ALDUB Library Project

ALDUB NATION is not just a nation that tweets. It is a nation that unites, loves, cares, shares, spreads good vibes and makes others happy, doing small things with great love.

I’m a self-confessed Eat Bulaga baby, an avid believer, and I have been their fan for the past 30 years of my life. I’ve seen them do noble things for others, discover new talents, create new segments, make big names in the industry, change lives and touch hearts. I even witnessed the times when they experienced turmoil during 36 challenging years of being on-air. But I never doubted them. I never turned my back on them because I cannot explain why I love them. For me that is already an enough reason why I am still here. My admiration and undeniably strong connection with Eat Bulaga strengthens even more when ALDUB was born. I can’t really explain how it changed me to become a better person. A happier, more positive and more concerned human being. I have been influenced by them to express my thoughts, to encourage others to live a positive life, to just spread good vibes and to make at least one person happy everyday.  I must admit God must have used ALDUB and Eat Bulaga to be instruments in making a lot of people realize that even though their individual acts of random kindness may seem small, collective efforts as a nation having the same goal with unity, nothing is impossible. We can all make the best happen just by doing small things with great love.

I may have missed the chance to be in Philippine Arena during Tamang Panahon that created history, but I AM PROUD TO BE PART OF ALDUB NATION.

ALDUB NATION is not just a nation that tweets. It is a nation that unites, loves, cares, shares, spreads good vibes and makes others happy.

Just one of the many achievements that ALDUB Nation has is the ALDUB Library Project – the fruit of all the hardwork, commitment, donations and participation of everyone during Aldub Tamang Panahon.  The first ever ALDUB Library – Lumban Central Elementary School has been turned over and blessed today, January 21, 2016 in the presence of Alden, Maine, Lola Nidora and Lola Tidora and watched by Aldub nation in line with the celebration of ALDUB’s 27th Weeksary.

Eat Bulaga!, TVJ, Alden & Maine,  EB Dabarkads, you just don’t know how much you have touched the lives of so many Filipinos. Thanks for inspiring more people to help through their own little ways. You taught us to be selfless. You never fail to inspire us, by encouraging us to support such sensible projects with a magnanimous cause. This is indeed a really “humbling experience for the supporters and lovers of Eat Bulaga and AlDub.

There are so many unexplainable reasons up to this very moment why we, Filipinos love Eat Bulaga and ALDUB. But, I must say we have learned to love Eat Bulaga, ALDUB and its Dabarkads because we believe in them, we journey with them and we continuously admire and adhere their “Mabuting Hangarin para sa higit na nakararami.” Let us all remember,  sabi nga nila …“Hangga’t may bata, may Eat Bulaga!”

Mabuhay kayo! Mabuhay tayong lahat. Congratulations Eat Bulaga!, TVJ, EB Dabarkads, AlDub (Alden and Maine) and to the whole AlDub Nation sa buong mundo! We have shown the world the true and real essence of Filipino Bayanihan.- “Isang gawaing may kabuluhan at di makasarili lamang!”

This is just the beginning. Kapit lang. Sama-sama tayo! More to go!

A Heartfelt Message from Mr. and Mrs. Baby

One way that made me realized my worth as a Wedding Planner. #ILoveMyJob

Have you ever realized your worth in your chosen field or profession? I just want to share this message from one of my GEMBSO Couples. Their message of appreciation and gratitude keeps me going and love my job even more.

mr. and mrs. baby

A Heartfelt Message from Mr. and Mrs. Baby (Joel & Chona Lirio)

I have known Ate Majelle for so long. She was a schoolmate since elementary and high school. She was also one of our church youth group’s (KALIS-SMEP) leaders that I’ve looked up to and grown up with. There’s no question that she’s really a good person, but from our recent endeavor together her great personality and how beautiful a person she is had shine so brightly and had been deeply engraved in Baby’s and my heart.

I’ve gotten married recently and got Ate Majelle as our on-the-day coordinator. But that was not our original plan. From the start of our wedding preparations, we thought Ate Majelle’s service was quite pricey and opted to book another “cheaper” alternative (discounted maybe, but I tell you, it’s not cheap at all). But since wedding preparations does not go smoothly and perfectly as planned (especially for demanding and brutally honest persons me and Baby are) there were several changes along the way. 12 days before our wedding, for some “professional” reason, our photo-video team decided they could not work with us anymore and to add more insult to injury, our “professional” coordinator decided that she would be out of reach for 23hours while the whole fiasco was going on!!

I needed a coordinator real quick. And more than that, I needed a friend. With my Math/Logical/Statistics/Algo brain still turned on (this happened while I was at work), my brain started searching within my imaginary phone book looking for an intersection of Event Coordinator AND Friend groups. And that’s when I thought of Ate Majelle. Called her immediately, my reception was bad and then she called me. Me and Baby was in panic mode and did not know what to do. But we called the right person. From that time, everything was great and perfect. We managed to set up a great team from great people and developed great new friendships with everyone who worked with us on our Wedding.
This is not a paid advertisement, but I’d like to point out some points on how professional Ate Majelle really is:

1) She eats, sleeps and breaths Templates. Right after our first meeting, 11 days from the wedding, even before the meeting was over, we’ve already received 5 emails with 5-10 templates each. Templates/Forms we need to fillup to give all the details of our wedding. This just shows how organized and detailed she is on her work.
2) She’s always 5-10 mins early. And I was always late. But she’ll always remind you how important time was.
3) She does not procrastinate, she sticks to her schedules. Her OTD Coordination is not really “on-the-day” it starts weeks and months before the wedding. This is to make sure that her OTD coordination works PERFECTLY ON THE DAY.

But we do not consider her to be the best Wedding Coordinator because of the points above. It was because she was a friend. She was human. She shared our emotions. She shared our dream. She shared the load of being passionately in love of having a great day on the day of our wedding. Weddings are for one very emotional. Wedding couples are very emotional, and Ate Majelle understood that. I have forgotten how Me and Ate Majelle and the rest of our church youth group would stay up late to prepare for a recollection or for our church’s Senakulo. How she would sacrifice sleep to just have a perfect play, act and church event.

Ate Majelle was everyone’s Ate. And now it’s a wonderful thing to know that she’s extending her “Ate”-ness to couples around the world. This is her job, but this is also her passion. It’s good to know that even though the Wedding scene has been heavily comercialized, there are still some people who really cares about the couple and their wedding.

Ate Majelle, sobrang maraming maraming salamat. You didn’t just organize our wedding, but you helped us figure things out when it was all a mess. And you were a friend who keeps reminding us that is was about Me and Baby, it was about love. Thanks!!

Wedding Preps In The Eyes Of A Wedding Planner

What a Wedding Planner thinks, feels, and sees in every Wedding she does.

majelle1

I never thought that planning a wedding would be this fun and exciting. It makes me stay awake until the wee hours of the morning chatting with brides or grooms in other time zones, answering emails, and updating the nerve-wracking RSVPs not realizing that I still have to sleep and prepare for another hectic day.

It makes me wake up  early and look forward to whatever “To do” that I could accomplish every day. Time is very important. Every minute counts. We are given chances to grab, opportunities to take and no second to waste.

As a wedding planner, I have timelines to be followed, guidelines to be observed, deadlines to be met, limitations to be seen and most importantly goals to be realised.  Satisfying and making every couple happy is my major task. I always want to be on the right track. Should not miss anything. I have to be always ready and must be on the go. Must always be up for new challenges; making sure that we are still working within the budget and having some brain-draining sessions just to explore my team’s creativity and think of new and useful ideas for every wedding we plan. From choosing the perfect song for the bridal march, thinking of the designs for the candles and matchboxes, organizing the program and a whole lot more.

Some people think that a wedding planner/coordinator’s job is so easy. Others would say we are just ushers or helpers at the church and reception. Some of the guests would think we are just ordinary people, I’ve been hearing people calling us “alalay” or “yaya” but I would like to let them know that we are not. We are professionals. We are coordinators. We are the partners of the couple in making their wedding a truly wonderful and memorable one; working hand in hand together with equally professional wedding suppliers.

Imagine how a wedding would be like not having a professional planner to coordinate on that day. How chaotic it could be without us? You might probably see a panicking bride, a stressed mom, a perspiring groom, or a sister who was not able to witness the ceremony because there are so many things that need attention to detail and they have no one to act on it. We, the coordinators take care of it and we implement what is planned. We assume possible circumstances, anticipates urgencies and we are always ready for unexpected situations. Name it, perhaps we had experienced it. From sunny to stormy moments we have to stay put and perform our duties. We always put our hearts in everything that we do. Just like what they say, don’t sweat on the small stuff. Let the professionals handle it.

Let the suppliers do it. Just make sure to hire the right people to make your wedding a success. On second thought we are not fairy godmothers. We don’t do magic. We can only do so much with what the couples give. Wedding suppliers have so many duties to do, hundreds of people to please, and high expectations to be exceeded; and it is not an easy thing. We all need a lot of patience, proper time-management, pure dedication in everything that we do. Every successful event is a fruit of our hardwork. We study, we plan, we strategize, and we execute the event in the best possible way we can. It’s not all about the money. There’s more to it. Sometimes it’s about passion, personal growth and achievements.

But in spite of the tons of work that need to be done, planning my GEMBSO couples’ wedding gives me so much eagerness and satisfaction. It makes me smile and imagine how it would be like on that big day! I always see things in a positive way. Because, I know that I’ve invested so much time and effort to make everything fall into its proper place. I never thought that this would somehow change my attitude towards trusting other people too. I realised that sometimes taking a big risk could also do you good. Working with couples you haven’t seen and with wedding suppliers whom you do not know is somehow stressful just like dealing with different kinds of people with various personalities. But in the course of planning a special occasion I found out that trust and communication are just few of the essential keys for having a smooth sailing wedding preps and a seamless wedding day 🙂 I also gained a lot of friends in the wedding industry and my clients too became my buddies, friends and ‘kumares’ 🙂

Now, having worked with one of the best team I know, My Gembso Team, I just feel that on every wedding I plan and coordinate with my ever-reliable angels, yes they are my Angels. Every detail will be properly taken care of. And to tell you, every wedding is as special as the couple’s love story.

I always look forward to see happy couples, grateful parents, appreciative guests, friendly suppliers and I love to end every event with a happy heart knowing that we were able to make another GEMBSO Event at its finest and beyond.

As I put myself to sleep after every event I planned, my heart is always filled with happiness and heartfelt gratitude to God. Because I know that He was there with me; watching me, and guiding me in every decision I made.

Goodbye 2015, Hello 2016!

thankful

How can you say that you are thankful and blessed? In life we all look at things differently. We see things, events and people depending on how we want it. But blessings come to us each and everyday, it can be in big or small packages, there are also some that seem to be so hard to perceive or usually left unnoticed.

My parents taught me and my siblings the importance of sharing and being a blessing to others. Seven ways on how you can become a blessing?

1.Learn to share what you have                                                                                                    2. Give but don’t expect anything in return.
                                                                                  3. Think of other’s feelings, welfare and being.
                                                                        4. Put others happiness first before your own.
                                                                           5. Inspire others to be a blessing too.                                                                                        6. Always spread good vibes, love and happiness.                                                                       7. Pray for others and wish them well.

I believe that everyday we are given equal opportunities to be a blessing. We just have to choose to be one. We should not expect a favour to be returned. Just choose to be a blessing to others in any way and you’ll be doubly blessed. Let God give you what you truly deserve.

2015 has been quite a challenging year for me and GEMBSO. But just like the old times I have so many things to be grateful for, so much to be happy about and a lot of great memories to remember. ALDUB YOU ALL!

This is Majella De Jesus Magpantay of 2015 now signing off.

1st Christmas with ALDUB 2015 – One For Keeps! #KiligPaMore

This Christmas is so different from the past Christmases that I had for the past 12 years. Ever since I graduated from College, I have been so busy and as a Wedding Planner I usually don’t have much time during December because of weddings or events. It’s my first time to do something unusual. But it made me happy. Yes I am happy and I am proud! Do you still remember the last time you actually did something for the first time? Was it worth it? My answer, YES it’s really really really worth it.

It’s actually my first time to watch an MMFF movie on Christmas Day, where there are a lot of people from all ages who go to the mall to watch as well. Going to SM Batangas at 8:30 in the morning to catch the first screening of MyBebeLOVE #KILIGPAMORE in SM CINEMA 3 that was shown at 9:30 am was quite a challenge. But since I am a self-confessed proud ALDUB Fan together with my sister and friends, we were ready for whatever challenge that may come our way. We are like any other members of the ALDUB Nation “WALANG MAKAPIPIGIL SA AMIN!” Caps lock para intense! We got the tickets, chose a good seat, lucky us we have E-PLUS cards for express lane and we were spared from the long queue of moviegoers for MBL. Fantastic si Bibi! The odds are ever in our favor.

mybebelove

Seeing some familiar faces of neighbors, relatives,  friends, and even those I did not know gave me so much positivity. Some moviegoers went there with their families, with their children, with their grandparents, with their friends, with their partners, with their AlDubarkads and some came in solo but one thing I am sure of nobody ever felt alone inside. It feels like we all knew each other. When someone said “Grabe Sya, or Grabe Sila!” everyone reacted too. And when someone shouted Regine! the rest said…. Whooooooooh! Ala Lola Tidora! We may not know each other but we, the ALDUB Nation has our own language to communicate. The atmosphere inside the cinema was so high, it feels like TP days, everyone was excited, giddy and super kinikilig! Can you just imagine a room filled with hundreds of people that only radiate good vibes and happiness. While we are waiting for the movie to be shown I heard a lot of people said “Di pa man nagsisimula gusto ko na agad ulitin!, Iba talaga ang ALDUB, ang #MyBebeLove pinapasaya tayo.

Then I realized, as human we don’t really need much in order to be grateful and happy. We just need a few to satisfy our simple wants and enjoy life’s simple joys. In times of hardships, problems and challenges we just need something that can make us smile or give us a good laugh even just for a while. For the past 23 weeks ALDUB has always been there for us and through their movie we got a bonus from AISING. We are so lucky, we are spoiled nation anyway!

Congratulations Direk Joey, Bossing, Aiai, to ALDUB Alden and Maine and all to the hardworking and dedicated members of the production team of #MyBebeLOVE everything that you have done, all your efforts, time, and creativity that you put in this movie was well-appreciated. You have come up with a really good piece that the whole ALDUB Nation will thank you for. You have made our Christmas 2015 extra special by giving us an extraordinary gift to enjoy. Your success is also ALDUB Nation’s success, and together we will continue to work hand in hand to make this world a better and happier place to live in.  We are committed to support you in every endeavor.

Dondi&Anna

For me, now is the only Christmas that I never felt lonely that I still don’t have a love life. I have been fervently praying to God for Him to give me the right man for about a decade or so. But when ALDUB came into the picture they made me believe in tamang panahon, destiny, forever and true love. I personally believe that LOVE will come unexpectedly, it may not be this year but I must say, I will always have a great memory of Christmas 2015. Thanks to ALDUB this year is really one for keeps!

Again, MERRY CHRISTMAS to EAT BULAGA DABARKADS, AISING, ALDUB NATION and to ALDUB (Alden & Maine) Wishing that you also to have a great CHRISTMAS to remember! Let us continue to spread LOVE, radiate GOOD VIBES and share HAPPINESS! Let us not forget that the real reason for this season is our Lord Jesus Christ. Let’s us thank God for He has been so good to us and we have so many blessings to be thankful for.

My Version of #DearYayaDub

I know this will be a long shot but I would still try. I just want to let you know my thoughts of having Maine in our lives. She truly deserves all the kind words, the appreciation, the love and all the blessings she has been receiving right now. Kudos to her humble heart. Hoping that she get the chance to read this. That would really make me happy.

Remembering Lola, Grandma, and Nanay! – #Thank YouPoLola

It has been over a week since the AlDub ‘Ang Tamang Panahon’ concert occurred and every time I watch the video on youtube, I always get emotional.  I have been consistently crying on that particular moment when Lola Nidora is finally giving Alden and Maine the freedom to express their admiration, feelings  and love without any restrictions. ‘Tamang Panahon’ journey has not been easy but the wait is truly worth it.

In this photo, Alden and Maine hugged Lola Nidora to express their appreciation for the freedom, trust, support and love that she gave them.

The Emotional Lola and Apo

When Lola Nidora said that she will no longer be a ‘Malaking Hadlang’ I saw that her intention was so pure and I felt the sincerity of her heart. I strongly believe that there is no Lola who would think of bad thoughts for her grandchild. There is no Lola who would wish her grandchild to be hurt, to be  brokenhearted, to be on the wrong path. All the Lolas would only want to see their grandchildren happy, well-loved and taken cared of.

Though sometimes our Lolas are mostly misunderstood because they are strict and have a lot of rules and ‘pangaral’ they are still there to love us, protect us and understand us unconditionally. We just have to learn to appreciate their presence while we still have them around. Lucky are the ones who have this privilege. I encourage you to spend more time with them, show them some care, give them extra ounce of kindness and a dose affection, these mean so much to them. Make them feel loved, appreciated, respected and needed too. We will always be our Lola’s little ‘Apo’. They can never outgrow the thought that we are also getting old. In their eyes will always be a kid who needs guidance with a little ‘kurot’ sometimes.

lolawithAldub2

I just miss having my Lola around. I miss having her. She was there to watch over me, to listen to my stories and to take care of me like a spoiled little child. I miss the times when she used to ask me how my day went; what I want to have for snack or lunch. I miss listening to her stories, her teachings, oh! I just miss her. I miss my Lola Pining. Sorry I am a certified spoiled grandchild and my cousins know that. No one can object, I am our Lola’s favorite.

Sadly, she was gone too soon. She passed away when I was nine years old due to severe sickness. I cannot contain the tears that I shed in a  bucket when she went away. When I heard about the news, I knew life will never be the same again.

Whenever I see other girls with their Lolas, I can’t help but feel the emptiness I have  in my heart. The feeling of longing for her presence; she could have seen my little achievements and I know she would have been so proud of me.

For those like me who no longer have a Lola, the best thing that we can do right now is to just look up and say a silent prayer to  let them know how much we love, appreciate and miss them. Let us also not forget that even once in our lifetime we were so blessed to have them.

Finding Love and Forever sa #TamangPanahon.

love1Do you believe in love and forever? Have you found it? Are you still hoping and praying that it will be a reality sa Tamang Panahon?

Everyone has his or her own version of how a love story begins. There are people who believe in love at first sight. Some say love begins with one hello, others with a simple smile.  For some, love starts with a cup of coffee or a pint of ice cream, while for others a shared appreciation of food, a bucket of popcorn while watching a movie or simply just enjoying each other’s smalltalk while eating isaw, kwek-kwek or fishball at the neighborhood’s ‘tindahan sa kanto’ could spark something special.

For AlDub,  it all started accidentally through a split screen ‘kalyeserye’ that instantly had a worldwide following,  giving people an unexplainable feeling of ‘kilig’ and happiness.  Some really believe that it was “MaiDen Heaven” because it seems to have an “AlDub-vine” intervention and everything just fell into place at the right time.

aldubCollageLove is everywhere. It can be found in the office, in school, in theaters, hallways, malls, even in a busy two-way street. It can also be found in castles like the ones in fairytales where prince and princess meet. You can find love in the most unexpected places. People confess finding love in shallow waters, on mountaintops, in an island, in a desert, or even in cold snowy places. A simple plywood, locket, alarm clock, hanky, flagpole, basement, straw, gym, tree, long table, theme park, mansion, rally, parking lot, garden, library, or a noisy canteen are all witnesses to love’s grandeur.

You can fall in love on a cruise, aboard a plane, a train, bus, jeepney, motorbike or any type of vehicle. Name it. Love makes travelling worthwhile no matter how bumpy the ride is. For AlDub, the various Barangay’s “Kalye“ or the different streets in the Philippines and the whole ALDUB Nation watching on television everyday are the witnesses on how AlDub’s blossoming on cam love story unfolded. People even get confused whether it is just on reel or for real, this is quite obvious when Alden and Maine unconsciously go out of character and often teased by the hosts, “Acting-an lang ‘to uy!”

Love has grown with time and the evolution of technology. Some found love through having Phone pals and pen pals, others through radio signal communication. But now Love transcends through the development of other social media platforms. A wrongly sent text message can lead to love. Some took the effort to find love by just swiping to the right.  A simple status update in Facebook,  Twitter and Instagram  can also mean a profession of love. Other apps also became instruments to bring lovers together even those who are million miles apart.  From snail mails, fan signs, fax, cards, emails or mails of whatever kind, one thing’s for sure – love is always found.

This may sound a cliché but most people say that one way to get to a man’s heart is through his stomach. Some meet love in the kitchen. One cooks, the other lovingly savours the food. Love is also in music. One writes the song, the other sings. Love can be found on the dance floor, like two individuals swaying to love’s fantastic tempo. Love can be in the hospital; one is the patient, the other one is the caregiver breathing life to the other. Love can be on the radio, a DJ and an avid listener just might end up falling in love. Love can be in the courtroom. The defendant and the accused may just patch things up.

In all honesty, love can be found in the most unexpected place and time, not knowing that the love of your life is already there usually unnoticed because you could have been to busy finding love. Can you imagine how magical it is for love to get into someone’s system freely?  Only the heart knows how and it would be so hard to explain.

Love nowadays is expressed differently; it can be done through the help of Internet, social media apps, or can even be broadcasted live Via Satellite. Eat Bulaga’s Kalyeserye that features AlDub showed us that chivalry is not yet dead. They exemplified to us the importance of Filipinos’ traditional values on “panliligaw, paninilbihan and panunuyo”. It teaches us to be patient, to wait, to be hopeful and prayerful. It inspires everyone to believe in the real power of love. Though lovers have to go through different trials and sacrifices they are still eager to deal with it   just to profess unconditional love with their purest intention.

There are so many instances where you can find love. You can wait or search for love but in the end, there’s only one thing that’s true. I believe that whatever your story is, there is one God behind it. He is the one who writes your very own love story. He is the one who creates the main characters, who happens to be you and the one whom He made just for you. He writes the plot, chooses the setting, and makes sure that love finds its way to you.  Just believe in #tamangpanahon when God is ready to give you your forever.

For those like me who have not yet found the love of their life, just live each day with the will to follow your heart’s desires and just be happy. I know that God only makes sure that in His perfect time your paths will cross whichever road you’ll take.
