“Once in a lifetime” – A POV on Feels Like Home

When was the last time you actually engaged in the thought that you needed somebody in your life? When was the last time you did something for someone that felt so great? When was the last time you felt good about doing something that you never thought you could? When was the last time you listened to what your heart really feels? When was the last time you realized how important every minute of your life is?  I’ll leave all these questions to you.

I don’t even know how to start this blog about what I just finished reading from Wattpad. It’s actually my first time to write about what I read and give my POV.  I saw a tweet from my cousin @lindseyuritz at 1:03 AM of June 8, 2016, here it goes:

LY1

When it comes to fanfic she is my go-to person. We always share the stories we read, we even exchange opinions and we both enjoy our fangirling experiences together or apart. Twitter and Wattpad are our happy place and of course, RJ and Maine  are our happy pills.

So I tweeted her and said, Uy bago? and she replied : “just finished reading it now straight for almost 2 hours, ksma na singhot haha! Dko mtgil eh, it’s really good!” and I responded, “two hours ahh chapter 1 pa lang ako mamaya ko na lang kaya basahin baka di na ako makatulog.”

As I was reading  chapter 1 and still waiting na dalawin ako ng antok, coming from her, I know this is something really worth my time so I decided to continue reading, and true enough I can’t seem to force myself to stop reading the next chapter, and another one and another. When I reached chapter 8 I knew I have to get something so I went up from my bed grabbed a glass of water and got a box of kleenex, I knew all along I would be needing it; and I was right.

When it comes to family matters, friends, loved ones and romantic relationships- I always get emotional, I’m a self-confessed mababaw ang luha- iyakin sabi nga nila and a hopeless romantic. Even if it isn’t my story; even if it’s just a fiction – a movie, a soap, or a story that I read, surely I would cry, as to many tears that I can’t tell.

There comes a point in our lives, though we can’t totally understand from where the writers are coming from, we tend to feel the emotions they convey. I must say, the writer of Feels Like Home has an effective way of expressing her thoughts. She really delivered, and her style is something that many can somehow relate to – just like the other amazing writers from ADN that I admire. They all deserve to be appreciated even once in a while.

As I continued reading the remaining chapters I had felt all sorts of emotions; as if I was in the shoe of Maine or Richard and the other characters in the story. And by this time I can no longer contain my tears, so I just let it all out. I felt the emptiness, the anger, the discomfort, the betrayal, the longing and more so I felt their pain, their struggle as well as their aspiration for her to come back to life no matter how helpless they may be. I felt the genuine love, their immense happiness and renewed faith.

Being  alive  is something we usually don’t notice as an everyday miracle. Not until we realize that we could only be given a few more days to live. We see relationships as just part of our everyday lives not knowing how it could make or break us. Whenever we detach ourselves to what is real; when we choose to live a life away from our fears; when we turn our backs to our old selves; when we believe that we don’t need anyone, we actually forget how to truly live.

This story reminded me to not live a life full of regrets, what ifs and buts. It made me realize that we all have to cherish every moment, every memory and always try to make a good one. To forget about pride and insecurities, to learn to accept, move on and to forgive. To not lose hope and to love again. FLH also reminds us to believe that God has a hand in everything. He always has better plans, better than what we have dreamed of. He knows when to tap our shoulders to remind us that we are loved. He lets us know that we are not forgotten and we just need to have faith in Him and believe.

TRUST – a big word that not everyone knows how to give and not everyone deserves to be given but this story shown us that in life we need to trust God, others and our own selves.

FLH2

Feels Like Home is not just a nice story. It is a heartfelt, well-written, and not a typical story that I am fortunate I came across and took time to read. I hope this is not the last story you’ll write ItchyWittyFingers ( on twitter). Many of us are looking forward to read your works again. Thank you for sharing your talent. You are awe-inspiring!

Kudos to you and to all the other writers from ALDUB and MAICHARD Nation.                                I am so proud of all of you. Though some may not feel appreciated or noticed,                       always remember there is at least one who does. That’s me.

P.S. Don’t hesitate to read it. Don’t forget to bring a glass of water and a hanky, tissue or towel if you have to and for more pleasant reading experience you can log on to Spotify, search for Love Affair (A Music from the Motion Picture Soundtrack) playlist and put on loop the song Journey of Love. Enjoy reading everyone. Let’s all be happy and share love.

Dear Maine,

Just like any other ALDUB/MAICHARD fan, I want you to know that you have been making me look forward to every brand new day as I journey with you. You never fail to amaze me; ‘coz you take me by surprise every time. You captured my heart in ways that only you know how. The reasons why I love you, I can’t really explain; that’s pure love, an admiration and heartfelt appreciation from a fan. That is how precious you are (just in case you still don’t know) You’re like a little sister to me. Thank you for being my everyday dose of inspiration, happiness, good vibes and of course the unexplainable kilig! You and Richard have made me believe in destiny, the power of LOVE, FOREVER and TAMANG PANAHON. You have been touching so many lives. You have been an inspiration to mankind from all ages, from all walks of life, from different parts of the world. The two of you have made us realized how truly great and amazing is our God. Aldub – MaiChard Nation has been so blessed to have you both in our lives. We know we couldn’t be any luckier. You are one of the best surprises we got last year that made it an unforgettable one. In spite of all the challenges we encountered God gave you to us unexpectedly, to remind us that we must appreciate every blessings we have. We will always thank our good Lord for this precious gift. I know everyone would agree with me. You are God’s blessing to us, the best so far and we will be forever grateful for it!

I, together with the true Aldub – Maichard Nation is always praying to God for Him to graciously bless you and your family too. May all the saints and angels guide you and protect you all the time. May you always have healthy bodies, peaceful minds and loving happy hearts! Wherever this journey leads you, I will never get tired of supporting you and Richard. This is more than just a promise, it’s a vow, it’s my commitment to you.

Maine, you may not be able to meet every fan you have or at least get the chance to know all our names, but for us we will always remember how blessed and thankful we are to have you in our lives. Time may come when people might forget what you have done but always take note that no one will ever forget how you made us all feel loved, happier, appreciated and how you have inspired us to always radiate happiness, positivity and good vibes. Praying that you’ll continue to be a blessing to everyone and may you remain to have a generous humble heart and kind spirit in the coming years. Your life has changed in an instant but our lives have changed positively in more ways than you can imagine. I am praying that all the desires of your heart would come true and may you continue to live the dream that you have been dreaming of. You deserve only the best both in life and in love. I am so proud of you my dearest Maine, in everything that you do and everything that you are and Aldub you. Just enjoy life and all its wonderful surprises! Remember you are amazing and we appreciate having you just the way you are. Don’t ever doubt yourself because we believe in you. We got your back Meng.

My Heart’s Silent Wish

Just want to share a poem I wrote last June 2007 and it was from my Friendster Account.

want

Loving him was a feeling that made me feel alive

Though he was the one who broke my heart

Someone told me that I am no longer sane

For I have loved him who left me nothing but pain

Loving him was a feeling that made me happy

Being in love with him really drove me crazy

Whenever he was around there’s nothing I can’t do

Because I was afraid that he might leave me too

Why do I have to lie and can’t admit to myself?

That he’s no longer mine and he’s happy with somebody else?

Why, even though I have shed so many tears?

Still I can’t forget the memories we’ve shared through the years?

How I wish I can find a man who will love and take me as his own

How I wish God will bless me with the man who’ll never leave me alone

How I wish this time I’ll be better with the man God will provide

How I wish I’ll end up with the man whom I’ll spend the rest of my life

But then again, I cannot control where fate would lead me

I’m just a woman who dreams of being happy and be loved by somebody

Somebody who can be my best friend, my life partner and my lover

Who will make me feel special, will cherish and will love me forever

How I wish that somebody could be you

How I wish that you won’t hurt me too

How I wish that God thinks of me when He made you

How I wish that God will give me you.

An Open Letter For The One That God Has Made For Me.

Someday, the right time will come when God would let our hands to hold each other and we would never ever let go.

Looking back on my notes on Facebook I came across this one that I have posted June 2011. I actually forgot who sent this to me or made me read this but I know it would be so worth it to share.  I found it very apt with regard to my status back then and upon reading it again I realized that it is still very much applicable to me right at this moment. I would like to share it with you all wonderful single people:) Have a great Monday!

Someday, the right time will come when God would let us hold each other’s hand and we would never ever let go

.hands

I am wondering at this very minute if you are thinking of me, if like me,  you are wondering what is taking us so long to find each other. Many times I thought I finally found you only to be disillusioned by the fact that my wait has not yet ended. I get up each morning hoping, dreaming, longing to meet you. I am thinking of how we will meet, would it be as romantic as the ones I have seen in movies? Or is it possible that I have known you all my life but we have yet to realize that we are meant for each other? Oh how I wish you were here right now because you are the only one who has the answers to all my questions.
Sometimes I ask myself if I have ever really known “love”. I do not have the answer to that question either but I believe that, more often than not, we will never really know what love is until we find that right person…. and since I have not found you yet, then maybe I do not really know what love is!
You just don’t know how often I dream of finally knowing what it feels like to be in your arms. Even at this very moment I am imagining how you will simply sweep me off my feet! Perhaps I would be drawn to you by your smile, or your eyes, or maybe even how you manage to make me laugh by your silly little ways!
I don’t really know for sure but I am praying that God will help me recognize you when the right time comes. I think of all the pain that I have gone through in the past and of how much I have cried since the day I began my search. I just wanted you to know that I find my strength in clinging onto my vision of the beautiful life ahead of  me — the life I shall spend with you. In my mind and in my heart I know that you are worth all that pain and sacrifice.
After all, the tears have become a part of my life and I believe that they are slowly washing away my flaws so that I would become perfect, not perfect in its truest sense, but perfect — for YOU!  I wonder if you’ve gone through so much pain as well. I wonder if you’ve been hurt so many times along the journey.
But my dearest one, please don’t ever give up because I am right here… patiently waiting for you! I assure you that when we finally find each other I would slowly heal those wounds by my love. At night, I would look out my window and stare at the beautiful sky, hoping that somehow you are also looking up and wondering about me. I utter a silent prayer and send all my cries to the heavens above thinking that in time they would reach you. And when I feel impatient, I just close my eyes and believe  that you are on your way and that you are longing to see me as well. It is funny but when I finally fall asleep, it is still you that I think of, for you are always in my dreams. It seems that, for now, that is the only place where I can hold on to you, long enough to tell you how much I love you. In my dreams you would kiss away my fears and wrap me with your arms of love.
And this, all the more, makes me want to wake up and face the  new day ahead with the hope that soon enough,  you will no longer be a dream but a reality and once again I am assured that you are worth the wait. And when that time comes, everything will fall into its place, just as I had imagined, just as I had thought and dreamed, just as I had believed it would be!
By then, I would simply look back and smile at all that I have gone through, in spite of the pain and amidst the simple joys of life — and I would be very thankful  because they all led me to you!
In the meantime, take care of yourself for me. Hold on to our dream and don’t even think of letting go. Believe in your heart that we will find each other no matter what happens. God has planned the course and it is up to us to follow the directions. Don’t worry, don’t be afraid about getting lost, God saw to it that all the roads, no matter which one you choose to follow, lead to me .

ALDUB Library Project

ALDUB NATION is not just a nation that tweets. It is a nation that unites, loves, cares, shares, spreads good vibes and makes others happy, doing small things with great love.

I’m a self-confessed Eat Bulaga baby, an avid believer, and I have been their fan for the past 30 years of my life. I’ve seen them do noble things for others, discover new talents, create new segments, make big names in the industry, change lives and touch hearts. I even witnessed the times when they experienced turmoil during 36 challenging years of being on-air. But I never doubted them. I never turned my back on them because I cannot explain why I love them. For me that is already an enough reason why I am still here. My admiration and undeniably strong connection with Eat Bulaga strengthens even more when ALDUB was born. I can’t really explain how it changed me to become a better person. A happier, more positive and more concerned human being. I have been influenced by them to express my thoughts, to encourage others to live a positive life, to just spread good vibes and to make at least one person happy everyday.  I must admit God must have used ALDUB and Eat Bulaga to be instruments in making a lot of people realize that even though their individual acts of random kindness may seem small, collective efforts as a nation having the same goal with unity, nothing is impossible. We can all make the best happen just by doing small things with great love.

I may have missed the chance to be in Philippine Arena during Tamang Panahon that created history, but I AM PROUD TO BE PART OF ALDUB NATION.

ALDUB NATION is not just a nation that tweets. It is a nation that unites, loves, cares, shares, spreads good vibes and makes others happy.

Just one of the many achievements that ALDUB Nation has is the ALDUB Library Project – the fruit of all the hardwork, commitment, donations and participation of everyone during Aldub Tamang Panahon.  The first ever ALDUB Library – Lumban Central Elementary School has been turned over and blessed today, January 21, 2016 in the presence of Alden, Maine, Lola Nidora and Lola Tidora and watched by Aldub nation in line with the celebration of ALDUB’s 27th Weeksary.

Eat Bulaga!, TVJ, Alden & Maine,  EB Dabarkads, you just don’t know how much you have touched the lives of so many Filipinos. Thanks for inspiring more people to help through their own little ways. You taught us to be selfless. You never fail to inspire us, by encouraging us to support such sensible projects with a magnanimous cause. This is indeed a really “humbling experience for the supporters and lovers of Eat Bulaga and AlDub.

There are so many unexplainable reasons up to this very moment why we, Filipinos love Eat Bulaga and ALDUB. But, I must say we have learned to love Eat Bulaga, ALDUB and its Dabarkads because we believe in them, we journey with them and we continuously admire and adhere their “Mabuting Hangarin para sa higit na nakararami.” Let us all remember,  sabi nga nila …“Hangga’t may bata, may Eat Bulaga!”

Mabuhay kayo! Mabuhay tayong lahat. Congratulations Eat Bulaga!, TVJ, EB Dabarkads, AlDub (Alden and Maine) and to the whole AlDub Nation sa buong mundo! We have shown the world the true and real essence of Filipino Bayanihan.- “Isang gawaing may kabuluhan at di makasarili lamang!”

This is just the beginning. Kapit lang. Sama-sama tayo! More to go!

My Thoughts About This Week’s Kalyeserye

Some thoughts to ponder and learnings to apply in real life.

In this day and time people think that one must always meet their standards and everything must seem to be into their liking. When it turns out to be on the opposite side most people tend to be judgemental not realizing how it would affect others. Reel is different from real, the sad part is not everyone can differentiate and understand which is which. Voicing their opinions and suggestions are welcome but freedom of speech comes with a great responsibility. One must not add fuel to the fire. One must not gossip about other people especially when they don’t know the real story, purely speculating leads to having negative thoughts and it’s true that overthinking kills. It’s sad to see that more fans have seem to forget why KS is here in the first place. It’s here to teach us lessons in life not only kilig.

We know that in every relationship may it be friendship or a more intimate one, open communication is very essential it always goes with TRUST, RESPECT and LOVE. Though there will always be the paki-alamero, intrigera, ingitera, and the judgemental ones we must always remember that what we see in KS is just part of the KS journey, AKTINGAN lang. What happens outside KS is way different. Alden and Maine showed us that though there maybe “selos and tampo” moments in KS both of them know the real score, no one will do anything to hurt the other.

We may have different perspectives, views and opinions but at the end of the day we must ask ourselves why are we in this fandom in the first place? What brought us here? Are we doing what we believe is right or are we just after the ‘kilig’? When everything goes out beyond what we like are we going to just bash and hate?

I hope it’s never too late for everyone to realize how ALDUB nation was genuinely formed. That our love and admiration for MAINE, ALDEN and the LOLAS led us to be the strongest and most respected fandom. I’m honestly praying that together we can face the trials we are having right now. We can’t have everything together in one seating that is the concept of ‘tamang panahon’ that we all enjoyed and loved. Let’s just notice the inner sweetness and concern of the REAL Alden and Maine for each other, by the way I see it, LOVE is so evident. Love is already in their system and nothing or no one can take that love away.

Goodbye 2015, Hello 2016!

thankful

How can you say that you are thankful and blessed? In life we all look at things differently. We see things, events and people depending on how we want it. But blessings come to us each and everyday, it can be in big or small packages, there are also some that seem to be so hard to perceive or usually left unnoticed.

My parents taught me and my siblings the importance of sharing and being a blessing to others. Seven ways on how you can become a blessing?

1.Learn to share what you have                                                                                                    2. Give but don’t expect anything in return.
                                                                                  3. Think of other’s feelings, welfare and being.
                                                                        4. Put others happiness first before your own.
                                                                           5. Inspire others to be a blessing too.                                                                                        6. Always spread good vibes, love and happiness.                                                                       7. Pray for others and wish them well.

I believe that everyday we are given equal opportunities to be a blessing. We just have to choose to be one. We should not expect a favour to be returned. Just choose to be a blessing to others in any way and you’ll be doubly blessed. Let God give you what you truly deserve.

2015 has been quite a challenging year for me and GEMBSO. But just like the old times I have so many things to be grateful for, so much to be happy about and a lot of great memories to remember.
