Eat Bulaga! – A famous household name, “Bukambibig ng bawat Pinoy” – the more appropriate description. It is the longest running noontime show on television that has been with us for the past thirty-six challenging years. Eat Bulaga has touched the lives of Filipinos all over the world in more ways than you can imagine. EB is not just an ordinary show. Eat Bulaga has a perfect combination of great hosts with versatile talents too. For its viewers, watching EB has become a habit, like you’ve never want to miss any episode. Watching Eat Bulaga for the past three decades has made a lasting impact in our lives. TVJ and EB Dabarkads are not just hosts, “Pamilyang Pinoy” considers them as family.
Today, even more Filipinos are getting hooked to this “pinag-uusapan at kaabang-abang” na noontime show. Eat Bulaga also paved the way for the discovery of various talents that made a name in the entertainment industry. Though it seems so natural for Eat Bulaga to make their audience laugh with tears and help them fulfill their dreams via EB’s various segments – Little Miss Philippines, Bulagaan, Pinoy Henyo, Bulaga Pa More, Juan for All, All for Juan : Bayanihan of d’ Pipol, and KalyeSerye just to name a few, Eat Bulaga’s pursuit to giving joy doesn’t end there.
Looking back to what Eat Bulaga, Tito, Vic and Joey, and the EB Dabarkads have been doing through the years, I can’t help but wonder, How did EB maintains its popularity to its millions of viewers and yet it has managed to gain an incremental number of followers everyday? Suddenly, I realized what sets them apart from the rest. It is because the people behind Eat Bulaga have real genuine hearts, “may PUSO”. EB has the kind of heart that is truly “Pinoy”, a heart that you will be proud to have. A heart that gives hope to the helpless. A heart that has the courage to be resilient in spite of the never-ending trials. A heart that cares for the less fortunate. A heart that listens to the society. A heart that humbly shares its blessings. A heart that is not self-seeking. A heart that forgives and most especially a heart that appreciates and gives back.
Eat Bulaga never fails to help our less fortunate brethren with the special projects that it has launched. Education is one of EB’s many advocacies. Eat Bulaga believes in the importance of education and thought of projects that can help alleviate the problems in our society. Do you still remember the thirty Eat Bulaga Excellent Students (EBESt) scholars? As of today, two batches of scholars that are composed of thirty poor but hardworking students were sent to school by Eat Bulaga.
First batch was launched in 2009 and graduated 2013. To show EB’s unwavering support to the EBest Scholars, Eat Bulaga also helps them go through with their College Education. The second batch of EBESt scholars was launched last 2014. Here is a video of Eat Bulaga Best Excellent Students Awardee Graduation 1st Batch of EBest Scholars. Have you also heard the “Isang Lapis, Isang Papel Project”? This was Bossing Vic Sotto’s Birthday Anniversary wish. Isang Lapis, Isang Papel Project, Bossing Expressing his thanks to EveryJuan
“Ito lang ang wish ni Bossing sa kanyang birthday, ang sama-sama nating pagbabayanihan upang makatulong sa pagtupad ng mga pangarap ng mga mag-aaral na nangangailangan.”

Eat Bulaga also had EB – Ryzza’s Classroom Project wherein she auctioned her dresses for this cause. “Ang mga maiipon sa bibilhin niyo, gagamitin sa feeding program ng ilang mag-aaral sa Pampanga. Dahil bawal ang gutom, dapat busog!” – Ryzza Mae Dizon
Eat Bulaga’s “Juan for All, All for One, Bayanihan of d’ Pipol” segment hosted by Jose Manalo, Wally Bayola, and Paolo Ballesteros, also known as JoWaPao, the new generation of TVJ shows the true purpose of Eat Bulaga — to relentlessly help less fortunate Filipinos and to give happiness to every Juan who supported them throughout the years. Part of this segment is the “Plastic ni Juan Project, where they collect plastic bottles then recycle into armchairs and donate to different schools around the country. For years they have helped thousands of students, schools and barangays throughout the Philippines, “mula Batanes hanggang Jolo.”
The “Kalyeserye” entitled #KiligPaMore was also launched July of 2015 a segment that teaches good and traditional Filipino values and lessons about love. In line with birth of the phenomenal love team AlDub, (Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza, aka Yaya Dub), Eat Bulaga has been even more blessed. Eat Bulaga continues to dominate the ratings in its daily noontime slot. It is also evident with the obvious growing number of TVCs and sponsors who have put their trust to EB. As they say, 2015 is the rebirth of Eat Bulaga, a stronger, a better, a more meaningful Eat Bulaga offering “mas masaya at mas makabuluhang panood.”
Together with AlDub, the AlDub Nation was born. A nation that makes EB and AlDub trend everyday with at least 7-digit number of tweets. This nation is the only Fandom that received an Achievement Award for spreading “KalyeSerye” values online through inspirational posts and tweets. It continuously breaks records in history one of which is the 25.6 million tweets for #ALDUBEBforLove and they are also planning to break their own record of tweets for the upcoming Tamang Panahon Celebration. TicketWorld also announced that The Tamang Panahon Event had the highest ticket sales accumulated for just a day.
One way to give back and celebrate the overall success of AlDub, Lola Nidora, portrayed by Wally Bayola announced on Eat Bulaga’s October 17, 2015 episode of “Kalyeserye”, that the most awaited “Tamang Panahon” is bound to happen on October 24, 2015, Saturday at The Philippine Arena – The world’s largest indoor arena that has 55,000 seating capacity. #TamangPanahon will come to reality exactly 100 days after the birth of Aldub, – July 16, 2015.
“Tamang Panahon” is not just for the “Kalyeserye lovers” – Alden and Yaya Dub. It is for the whole AlDub Nation too. Lola Nidora has invited the AlDub Nation to be part of this historical event, EB’s biggest extravaganza ever. To make it more meaningful, she encourages everyone to join them by buying tickets to be able to watch the show. Lola Nidora said that 100 percent of the ticket sales will be used for building “ALDUB LIBRARIES”, Eat Bulaga’s latest project in cooperation with the whole AlDub Nation. Just a few hours after the announcement, tickets were selling like hotcakes and almost sold out over the weekend. This goes to show that the AlDub Nation is not just a nation that tweets. It is also nation that helps, shares, cares and supports projects with a noble cause for the benefit of many. The power of the united AlDub Nation and Eat Bulaga will exceptionally show the real essence of “Bayanihan”. “Isang gawaing may kabuluhan at di makasarili lamang!”
Since the real number of AlDub Nation is not just equivalent to 55,000 people, there were several petitions through tweets and FB posts from the AlDub Nation worldwide those who consider themselves as #TeamAbroad #TeamBahay and #TeamReplay asking of other ways to help. They have been calling the attention of Eat Bulaga hosts Tito, Vic and Joey, other EB Dabarkads, Alden, Maine and EB producers and staff. There were also tweets asking the help of the sponsors of EB as well. In response to this plea, Eat Bulaga and Tape, Inc. incooperation with BDO one of their sponsor banks an Account for ALDUB has been set up to receive monetary donations from all over the world. Isn’t it heartwarming to see a real worldwide “bayanihan” in the making?
Eat Bulaga!, TVJ, Alden & Maine, and EB Dabarkads, you just don’t know how much you have touched the lives of so many Filipinos. Thanks for inspiring more people to help through their own little ways. You taught us to be selfless. You never fail to inspire us, by encouraging us to support such sensible projects with a magnanimous cause. This is indeed a really “humbling experience“ for the supporters and lovers of Eat Bulaga and AlDub.
There are so many unexplainable reasons why we, Filipinos love Eat Bulaga. But, I must say we have learned to love Eat Bulaga and its Dabarkads because we believe in them, we journey with them and we continuously admire and adhere their “Mabuting Hangarin para sa higit na nakararami.” Let us all remember, sabi nga nila …“Hangga’t may bata, may Eat Bulaga!”
Congratulations Eat Bulaga!, TVJ, EB Dabarkads, AlDub (Alden and Maine) and AlDub Nation! This is just the beginning. More to go!
PS : During “Tamang Panahon” Charity concert of AlDub last October 24, 2015 held at The Philippine Arena, there were 55,000 people who gathered and partied with the whole AlDub Nation and EB Dabarkads. Worldwide Bayanihan was so evident. Aside from TeamArena who watched the show live the TeamBahay, TeamAbroad and TeamReplay watched from different parts of the world through Live Streaming via YouTube, on their television sets, mobile phones, and via Pinoy TV simultaneously. This Tamang Panahon episode of Eat Bulaga got a rating from AGB Nielsen in Mega Mla 50.8% audience share of 82.8% vs its competitor 5.4%/8.8%. The highest among all of Eat Bulaga’s episode for the past 3 decades. Almost fourteen million pesos were raised through ticket sales alone. There were also donations sent by OFWs and other Filipinos who were not able to buy tickets. BDO facilitated an account for ALDUB through Tape, Inc.’s account. The accumulated number of tweets for #ALDubEBTamangPanahon reached 41 million. There was an official statement by Rishi Jaitly from Twitter about this.
